Kruize takes a minimalistic approach to making jeans. All details are there for a reason, not for decoration. You could say that form follows function. He only uses one machine with a single-needle lockstitch, which means there are no overlocked seams. Instead all seams are either selvedge, hand-felled or bound with cotton tape. The buttonholes are hand-sewn. He believes the jeans should look as good on the inside as they do on the outside.

The denims used are the finest selvedge denims from Japan. All denims are sanforized, pre-shrunk, to ensure minimal shrinkage.

care guide:

New jeans will need some breaking in. At first the buttonholes might feel a bit sturdy. They will be more flexible in time. Just be careful opening and closing them in the beginning.

To help start the breaking-in process, it is recommended to give your jeans a pre-wear soak: turn them inside out and let them soak in cold water for about an hour. This helps strengthen the cotton fibers and extends the lifespan of your jeans.

Keep in mind that denim naturally stretches with wear and shrinks when washed. You can use this to your advantage: if your jeans feel a bit loose, wash them in warm water; if the fit feels just right, wash them in cold water or by hand to maintain their size.

If you’re aiming for high-contrast fades, try wearing your jeans for about six months before the first wash. Otherwise, wash them whenever necessary. This will result in a more even, uniform fade. There’s no need to wash your jeans too often. Simply airing them out can help freshen them up and delay the next wash.

Please note that at first the denim may bleed onto lighter fabrics such as shirts or upholstery.
